U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono visited the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies today where she was greeted by Director Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Dan Leaf. After signing the APCSS Distinguished Visitor book, Director Leaf took Sen. Hirono into his office and provided an orientation of the Center’s facilities and educational opportunities. After a brief tour of APCSS, Sen. Hirono sat in on a Advanced Security Cooperation Course (ASC 13-1) seminar session. The senator then had a bento lunch with the ASC 13-1 Fellows on the APCSS lanai. At the end of the luncheon, Sen. Hirono addressed the Fellows and spoke of the importance of diversity and the “rebalance” of the Asia-Pacific region. |
