Squadron Leader Jozef McGurk, officer commanding aircraft structural integrity, Royal New Zealand Air Force, shares his experience attending Comprehensive Security Cooperation Course 25-2.
Before the course, he had never heard of the center and didn’t know what to expect. What he found was a professional, well-established program that offered exceptional exposure and expertise.
He reflects on the value of building connections with other nations, understanding shared challenges, and gaining insight into emerging problems and potential solutions.
Squadron Leader McGurk emphasizes the importance of contributing to a global effort and his desire to return home and help fellow engineers and ground officers in New Zealand understand the broader strategic environment—something they are rarely exposed to.
For him, the opportunity to step away from daily duties and engage with high-level concepts was both unique and a privilege.
