Dr. Deon Canyon has a new paper entitled “The Integration of International Migrants into Western Society” which looks at shortfalls in tailored governments services for new migrant populations especially in the areas of health protection and security sectors.
In his paper, Canyon highlights the importance of evaluating integration policies. “Of particular importance,” he states, “is the development of clear goals, indicators and evaluation mechanisms to aid the adjustment of policy and evaluate progress on integration.”
“International migration is a growing security concern to several states, particularly in Europe and North America,” says Canyon. “Instability in the Middle East and subsequent rapid increases in the number of immigrants worldwide are increasing the perception of immigration as a threat to security. Further studies into the needs of newer migrants are required and these could be conducted through migrant centers or government services that have the highest level of contact with them. The resulting information will assist researchers as they delve deeper into migrant issues, and it will help service providers to understand more about migrant issues.”

USA in 1823 prescribed Manroe Doctrine to deny European communal powers play in their nationalism. MENA could not do that because neither they had power nor they were united. But now, the situation has changed and present refugee problem is the result of European atrocity. Of course USA is also responsible as it supported westerners to mess the problem in later dated after WW-II.
