Lt. Gen. Duane Thiessen, Commander, U.S. Marine Forces, Pacific visited the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies Sept. 16 for a tour and overview of the Center provided by APCSS Director Lt. Gen. (Ret.) E.P. Smith.
During Thiessen’s visit, Dir. Smith provided a full tour of the Center and intoduced him to Ambassador David Huebner, American ambassador to New Zealand, Samoa, and the Cook Islands and Ambassador C. Steven McGann, ambassador to the Republics of Fiji, Nauru, Kiribati, Tonga, and Tuvalu. The two ambassadors are at APCSS attending the “Maritime Security in the Pacific Island Region” workshop.
