While attending APCSS courses, Fellows are required to complete a Fellows Project which may be done as a presentation, research paper or policy brief. APCSS is now making these papers available on line with our new "Alumni Perspectives" publications. Ministry of Defense Deputy Secretary Prakash Praveen Siddharth (India), who recently completed the Advanced Security Cooperation Course (ASC 14-2), writes about "Tackling Corruption in Transnational Defense Procurement: Problems of Identification and Attribution” in his paper. APCSS publishes Women, Peace, & Security Strategy

This week the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies unveiled a new strategic policy statement in support of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS). The strategy outlines APCSS’ commitment to fostering an inclusive security sector through engagement and executive education of security practitioners in the Asia-Pacific Region. Fellows and faculty from the New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF) Command and Staff College (CSC) attended a joint workshop hosted at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) from November 4-7. Military and civilian government Fellows from 35 countries and territories including a participant from the United Nations, graduated September 17 from the “Comprehensive Crisis Management Course” at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. Transnational Security Cooperation course concludes with 26 new alumni

Twenty-six senior executives from 25 locations completed the Transnational Security Cooperation (TSC) course June 21 at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu.  They included military and civilian leaders from Afghanistan,  Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua-New Guinea, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Republic of  Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam. Popularity of APOC continues as course concludes with 148 Fellows

One hundred forty-eight American and international Fellows completed the popular one-week Asia-Pacific Orientation Course to become the second largest class in APCSS history on June 7.  Although the majority of Fellows were from U.S. Pacific Command and other on-island major component commands as well as the U.S. Coast Guard, USAID, and U.S. Strategic Command, this class also included non-U.S. participants.  Eighteen international Fellows attended the course from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan.  The course structure utilized a mix of plenary lectures, panels, brown bag lunches, seminar discussions and elective-seminars, a venue that continues to be successful in allowing the [...]

Eighty-five Fellows from 40 locations graduated today from the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies’ Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism (CSRT) Course in Honolulu.  Of the 85 participants, 70% were from military organizations with others representing law enforcement, intelligence, foreign affairs, state owned infrastructure operators, and the United Nations.  Three-fifths were from the Asia-Pacific region, with five continents participating in the course. Thirty-nine Fellows completed the Senior Executive Asia-Pacific Orientation Course (SEAPOC) 13-1 at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies today. Six international Fellows attended the course from Australia (2), Canada (3) and New Zealand (1).
