Mr. Krishna Bahadur Raut Receives the 2021 ‘Alumni of the Year’ award

DKI APCSS recognized Raut’s contributions as an alumnus who significantly improved the peace and security within his country of Nepal and in the Indo-Pacific Region.  Raut’s Fellows Project resulted in seven new provincial emergency operation centers. He drafted eight of the fifteen laws required to support the expansion of the EOCs. He also played an instrumental role in passing significant policies that included the Disaster Management Act, Risk Reduction Policy, and the National Strategic Action Plan.

Honolulu--The Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE) has granted accreditation to the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS). Announcement of the action was made by Dr. Lois Gackenheimer, Commission Chair, following the Commission Meeting of the Council on Occupational Education on September 16, 2021. The award of accreditation status is based on an evaluation to demonstrate that DKI APCSS meets not only the standards of quality of the Commission, but also the needs of Fellows, the community, and employees. Five employees and one departmental team of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies were honored May 20 by Honolulu Federal Executive Board during their 65th Annual Excellence in Federal Government awards. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, the FEB ceremony was held virtually. Center renames auditorium after the late Lt. Gen. Stackpole
