The Daniel K. Inouye (DKI) Speaker Series returns this Sunday, featuring His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines. He will discuss regional developments, the Philippines’ security challenges, and the critical role of the Philippine-U.S. alliance in addressing issues and concerns to advance mutual interests in promoting peace and ensuring resilient, sustainable, and inclusive growth for the Filipino people.

Earlier this month, the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies participated in the annual Galle Dialogues.  Retired U.S. Navy Captain Wade Turvold, DKI APCSS Dean of Admissions and Business Operations, served as a moderator for the Maritime Domain Awareness panel at the conference. The 11th edition of the Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Geopolitical Cartographer, was held October 12-13, 2023, in Sri Lanka. Faculty members attend the fourth Mekong-U.S. Partnership Track 1.5 Policy Dialogue

In July of 2022, faculty members Dr. Lori Forman and Dr. Deon Canyon attended the fourth Mekong-U.S. Partnership Track 1.5 Policy Dialogue in Cambodia. As of late October 2022, the report for this event in now available online on the Stimson website. More than 50 participants from a range of countries gathered together to discuss potential “solutions to key policy and sustainability challenges in the Lower Mekong.” This specific event explored the “needs and challenges related to human resources and capacity building in the sectors of education, labor migration, and health.”
