Belinda A. Yeomans

Dr. Belinda Akemi Yeomans is a professor at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, specializing in Japan, Northeast Asia security dynamics, the U.S.-Japan security alliance, and Indo-Pacific security architecture. She leads Japan-focused programming at the center, including the Japan-U.S. Security Discussion, a flagship initiative she developed at Stanford University and expanded in partnership with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA. Previously, Dr. Yeomans served as associate director of Stanford’s U.S.-Asia Security Initiative, convening senior leaders for strategic dialogues on regional security. Her career spans academic research centers, federal agencies, and nonprofits, and she holds degrees from Harvard University, UC Berkeley, and Stanford University.
