Dr. Rouben Azizian, the workshop academic lead, provides an overview to workshop participants. About 40 people from 20 different ministries took part in this facilitated review of Fiji's security sector environment. The workshop brought together 40 mid-senior grade officials from 20 Fiji Ministries and government entities. Maritime Security Challenges (MSC) 2014, the 6th iteration of the successful MSC conference series, was held in Victoria, BC, Canada from October 6 – 9, 2014. The conference involved over 180 delegates from 22 nations, including 13 senior serving flag officers, as well as ambassadors, senators, members of parliament, and leading figures in the defence and security sectors. Maritime Security is one of several focus areas for the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies.  APCSS partnered with the World Ocean Council to conduct a multi-national workshop on preserving the Gulf of Thailand’s maritime assets, held August 12-14 in Singapore.
