Renewable Energy Project at Ft. DeRussy Begins

Click on illustration for larger view. Work begins this week to install Photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of two buildings at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Ft. DeRussy.  This project to generate renewable energy supports of both the U.S. Department of Defense and State of Hawaii renewable energy goals. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded the $2.19 million project to Elite Pacific Construction, Inc.  May 9, 2014 (Design Bid-Build contract W9128A-13-R-0010).  The contractor will begin staging equipment on Thursday, Dec. 11 with excavation starting on Dec. 15.   The project is expected last until March 2015. 109 Fellows Complete Advanced Security Cooperation Course 14-3

(HONOLULU) – Security practitioners from 34 nations and territories graduated from the Advanced Security Cooperation Course 14-3 today at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. One hundred nine military and civilian Fellows attended the nearly five-week course Sep. 25 – Oct. 29. Senior Executive Asia-Pacific Orientation Course 14-2 Thirty-eight Fellows completed the Senior Executive Asia-Pacific Orientation Course (SEAPOC) 14-2 at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies Oct. 9. Benjamin Hwang and Kenneth Lawrence. Col. The APCSS Regional Security Studies Internship Program brings to the Center graduate and undergraduate students from around the world to assist and participate in APCSS courses.
